Tribes

Inquire of Gaia by Anthony Hightower There are four recognized tribes of Gurahl. The tribes are not as closely linked to genealogy or heritage as need. If one group finds that it is finding itself shorthanded, that tribe will find that new cubs will tend to find themselves called to serve. It's our mother's way of keeping our balance.

Forest Walkers are responsible for the forests of the world. They walk the wooded areas to keep these areas safe for man and beast alike. They are known as the storytellers, skilled in relating tales.

Ice Stalkers roam the circumpolar ranges of the world, they guard what some call the last unspoiled lands from the Pattern Breaker. The job was easier before the discovery of oil and gold in the great white north. The polar kin excel in artwork of a craft nature, not surprising in a 'waste-nothing' environment.

Mountain Guardians are the warriors of our race, usually of grizzly stock. The high lands and mountains are their realm, and are perhaps the most ferocious of guardians. They are the strongest of us, nearly mountains themselves.

River Keepers watch over the waterways of the world, the womb of life. This tribe has had the most setbacks from external influence, being in the more populated and visible areas. There presence is mostly felt in North America, but they are making efforts to rebuild their numbers. Don't bother trying to out-swim them, they are second only to the Rokea in aquatic skill.
