Auspice

While Luna holds some power over the Gurahl, it is not to the same extent as the Garou. We experience auspices, but they are not rigid structures defined by our date of birth. Instead, we travel through each auspice as we journey through life, even revisiting previous stages. Ursa Major by Jon Zimmer
Following our first change, we begin as Arcas, the new moon. This phase is noted by playfulness and curiosity. We move to the next phase, Uzmati, following our first major battle or leaving our Buri-Jaan to set out on our own. The full moon is the sign of battle, and we usually live out our aggressive tendencies in this phase. Yet even the most bloodthirsty of us grow weary of battle, and turn to the gibbous moon to become Kojubat. This is a time of learning, not just the lore of the Gurahl, but also of truth. These are the lorekeepers of our race. When they wish to learn more of the mystical nature of the Gurahl, many enter the phase of the crescent moon and become Kieh. The Kieh seek mystical knowledge in rites and gifts, and usually take on younger charges to ground themselves. The end of the path falls under the half moon, when we become Rishi. The Rishi are the leaders, the judges, and the mediators. We look to them for guidance.
