Current Updates

December 6, 2001
Nobody really signing up for the mailing list above, so either you all check regularly for infrequent updates, or it isn't important to most of you. I'll keep it going for a while, see what comes of it.
More Apocalypse decks in this update - four Wyrm decks for your enjoyment.
October 24, 2001
I've made the search engine more visible by making it load as part of the main page. There hasn't been any feedback, so I don't know if nobody is using it, or if it works just fine the way it is. And if you haven't noticed above, there is now a mailing list for those who wish to know when this site is updated.
Look for more decks: an Apocalypse trifecta by Skindancer Brujah (Andrew Rowse) and a Tribal War double-whammy by The Ghostdancer (Matthew Burack).
October 7, 2001
I've been wanting to add an intergrated search function for quite some time, and I finally managed to get it working! I would love feedback as to how easy it is to use, strange results, or things you think it should find, but doesn't.
Also, check out the Apocalypse deck section for two new decks, submitted by a woman only known as Darci. Otherwise, there were a few typos cleaned up.

Deck Week, Day 3. Today is the Apocalypse Wisdom winner. You can find a list of the contest winners here, as usual.

Some may wonder why I continue with Deck Week in light of recent events. I do not take these events lightly. In fact, I have been paying close attention to the local television news at home, National Public Radio in my car and CNN's website at work. My father retired from the NYPD in the precinct where the World Trade Center stood, and is currently working twelve hour shifts at our shared place of employment, Walt Disney World, as a security cast member. I spent the first half of my life within an hour of New York City, as did my fiance. And I struggled to find words to explain to my two-year-old son what was going on when he pointed to the TV and asked, "What's that?"
My decision is quite simple, really. I refuse to allow terrorism to affect the way I live my life, or to stop me from doing the things I enjoy. And this site brings me happiness, so life goes on.
Enjoy the decks this week, and if it allows just one of you to escape any personal or shared tragedy - if only for a few moments - it makes it all worth while.
September 11, 2001
Deck Week, Day 2. Enjoy the Tribal War Glory winner today. You can find a list of the contest winners here, or by clicking the Contests link to the left. From there, you can get to the decks, or by clicking the Decks link under Tribal War to the left.
September 10, 2001
In honor of the end of the Deck Building Contest, today marks Day 1 of Deck Week here at Little Bear's Lore. Each day will reveal an additional deck, alternating between Apocalypse and Tribal War. Our first deck is the Glory winner from Apocalypse. You can find a list of the contest winners here, or by clicking the Contests link to the left. From there, you can get to the decks, or by clicking the Decks link under Apocalypse to the left.
In other news, one major typo fixed on the site, Combat cards had strange headings for Damage. It's fixed.
August 19, 2001
Well, the contest is over, and the turn out was pretty good. Over thirty decks in all were submitted. I'll be working on getting the decks judged this week.
In other news, a few minor typos fixed on the site. Thanks go to Lurks-Between-Bytes for his suave spelling checker. Added some Apocalypse scans. Added a contact page, as I noticed my email is not necessarily easy to locate.
July 12, 2001
Finally, after almost a year of gathering the goods, the contest hinted at for some time is now in full swing. Click here for the Deck Building Contest running through August 12, 2001. Alternatively, you can click on the Contests link in the navagation to the left.

Little Bear's Lore 2.0!
Overhaul of the entire site for the new location. Not only has the Tribal War information been cleaned up and reformed, I now support spoilers for Apocalypse in the same format. For those looking for the Gurahl information, it has also been reformated and can be found in the 'Gurahl' link on the left. Stay tuned for another update tomorrow!
March 10, 2001
Special thanks to Zeplyn for noticing inaccuracies on the combat cards Knockback, Smooth Talkin', and Spirit Knowledge. Also, my most recent trade finished my collector's set! As such, the last two cards were checked for accuracy - there was a typo on both Corcoran Smithy and Wisdom of the Spirits, actually. They have all been corrected.
Since I have now finished my collector's set, I'm going to see if I can finish my play set. As such, my trade wants have significantly changed. If you previously didn't try to trade because I didn't need much, take another look.
February 28, 2001
Well, this update is just to indicate that I had to remove the Mind-it sign-up from my site. They went from a free service to a $795 a year service. Needless to say, I don't have $795 just sitting around collecting dust! So, for those of you who wish to be notified of changes in the future, just drop me a line and I'll add you to a distribution list.
Not much has changed 'round my site, but check out Azrael Productions for continuing coverage of the Rage revival.
And hey, I'll try to clean up things hereabouts real soon now. Input is always welcome.
April 20, 2000
Holy smokes, an update!
Nothing much has been happening lately, so there was really nothing to update. What you get in this update:
  • Updated card text taken from me fleshing out my collection and card errata from Matt Farney.
  • A new deck from Picks-at-Flies.
  • Updated trade lists.
Speaking of trading, if you attempted to initiate a trade at any point and didn't hear back from me, drop me another line. I missed quite a few pieces of mail over the months.
Also, I'm not going to be updating the non-frame version in the future. My counter statistics indicate nobody really uses it anyway...
September 20, 1999
Lexicon #15 is Hunger of the Kindred, the recent Inquest promo card.
Sorry about the skipped week. Floyd didn't hit Orlando all that bad, but it played tricks with my ISP. I think you'll probably see skipped weeks (at least with the Lexicon) about once a month, to coincide with my articles at Azrael Online. If you missed your card review fix last week, head over there to see my Bag of Tricks - a similar themed article as the Lexicon.
In other news, see the deck section for a new Silver Fang deck. Also, the search engine progresses - I've worked some code into something I think I want. I'll be testing this week to see if it operates the way I want it to.
September 6, 1999
Lexicon #15 is Y'Broke Mah Laig!, that cowboy combat card.
Wow. The new cub really took up most of my time. Going back to work freed me up to work on things, oddly enough! Besides the Lexicon, you'll find a few other goodies. Of note, five (yes, five) new decks have been added, taken from the rageinfo list, submissions, and my own noggin. I've updated the links section to reflect some changes, and to include the new Glass Walker sites and Azrael Online. The latter site is an overall online gaming magazine, for which I will be writing a monthly article similar to the Lexicon. You might notice the new title graphic on the Gurahl pages. This graphic is subject to revision, as I have just laid hands upon a graphics program.
Also, I am contemplating removing the frameless navigation for this site. I've been tracking the hits to this page, and the usage is incredibly low (on the order of approximately 3 hits a week at best, some weeks are hit-less) compared to the framed version (approximately 200 hits a week). I'm not doing this right away, but let me know if I should keep it. If nobody responds over the next few weeks, I'll assume it's not worth maintaining.
Last but not least, the future. I'm currently looking into getting a search engine for the spoilers. This is currently in the research stage, so don't expect any overnight miracles. Also, I'm still putting the finishing touches on the contest I hinted at back in June. Hopefully, it won't 'foil' too many people in their efforts.
July 26, 1999
Lexicon #14 is Rronuhn, of the Gurahl. Sorry on the skipped week, folks. A new cub is imminent, so expect sporadic updates for at least the next month. At the very least, I will make an effort to include new Lexicons each week.
Speaking of the Lexicon, I have now reviewed one card of each type (save Tribe cards, as I will not be addressing these). I now open the floor to any card that suits my fancy. This also means that if you have any requests, send it on in and I'll see what I can do.
In other news, the text-based (and printable) spoilers are now online! From the main page, click on Download. This will present a list of downloadable files. Right now, this consists of text files containing the spoilers for each phase. Any input on format is welcome. You may also see some structural adjustments, as I've corrected a few things that were not quite working properly. I've also archived the update information prior to July so that this page loads a little faster. I'll do this periodically to keep things a little neater.
July 12, 1999
Lexicon #13 is Kathy Williams, living in the past. You can find the new Inquest promo card, Hunger of the Kindred, in the spoilers. I also added two new decks, since I've been lax in keeping you folks stocked with new ones!
July 06, 1999
Lexicon #12 is Keiser, Marauder Mage at large. In other news, I've got the text based spoilers worked out, but they're too big. At best, you might print three cards to a page or so. I'm going to work on the format and see what I can do about consolidating the information.
June 28, 1999
Lexicon #11 is Umbral Stop, the block king.
June 21, 1999
Lexicon #10 is Callous Polluter, that insidious victim. I made a few minor changes as well. Also, stay tuned for a contest in the near future that I'll be running.
June 15, 1999
Lexicon #9 is Unicorn. Enjoy!
June 14, 1999
Fixed a very major problem in my spoiler scripting that caused text boxes with more than 255 characters to be truncated. My trades list is a little more up to date, too. The new Lexicon should be available tonight or tomorrow.
June 10, 1999
Lexicon #8 is Thomas Reichal, by request, albeit late. If you hadn't noticed, I had done one card from each release, of a different card type. I had this request a while back, but I had already started with an Equinox card. I plan to do one of each of the remaining card types, then just pick cards as they come. As usual, requests are welcome.
In other news, I'm working on two main projects. The first involves spiffying up the place a little. There are some aspects of the site that I think could look better. In fact, I've already started on this, including some new graphics on the Gurahl home and some changes to the Lexicon navigation. This update did a syntax change on the spoilers, but not one that should be readily noticed - the spoilers are still all there (with a few corrected typos). The second project involves putting together a text-based spoiler list suitable for printing. I've gotten two requests for this, so I suspect there are others who would find this useful.
May 31, 1999
Lexicon #7 is Force of Wills. Looks like the promised delivery for Friday didn't happen, eh? Last week was probably one of the worst I've had in a long time. As compensation, I've included some extra stuff, including two new decks.
May 26, 1999
Lexicon #6 is Rite of the Cotton Hollows. Sorry on the delay folks, family medical issues and car problems kept me from finishing the Lex on time. However, expect some new stuff by Friday, at least a new deck, and probably some new graphics.
May 17, 1999
Lexicon #5 is S & P Railroad.
I've also added another deck, Spiritual Cleansing.
May 14, 1999
Equinox spoilers are complete! All Rage cards are now online. Thanks go to Matt Farney, Marissa Hunts-Men and Anubis-Bast-Ka-teth for supplying the last few spoilers.
So what's next? I have a few ideas brewing, so keep checking!
May 10, 1999
Lexicon #4 is Gnosis Blade.
We've gone Official. Thanks go out to everyone for their support! As such, much of the site self-reference has changed to reflect this. Expect a change in the Gurahl banner sometime soon to indicate the official status. Speaking of graphics, there are some new pics on the Essential Gurahl page. I saw these pieces of art and just had to have them here.
Thanks to Darkwolf and Dances with Shadows for supplying some more spoilers. Still need spoilers for the following Equinox cards: St. Mary's Orphanage, Corcoran Smithy, Tara Malesbane, Spirit Vessel, and Rite of the Stolen Wolf. Only 5 more cards, folks. Anyone who can help with this would be highly appreciated!
May 3, 1999
Lexicon #3 is available, Distractions. I've adjusted the legalese and references to WW Rage to conform. There's a few new spoilers, about three or four more cards. You'll also find a new Cub War deck taken from the list. Some other minor adjustments were made as well.
April 26, 1999
Lexicon #2 on stands now, Storm Crow Spirit. I've adjusted my pages to comply with Ed's Official Tribe Site Requirements. Wolfkid Eri requested a new statistic to be tracked: Average and Total renown by tribe. It's there, as well as by breed and auspice. The links section has also been updated.
April 23, 1999
More Equinox added! Thanks go to Nate McConnell for providing a good portion of the missing cards from Equinox (27, to be exact). I have three more of the missing cards in a trade. That leaves 15 more cards to go!
April 19, 1999
No new cards, bummer. In the meantime, I've added some other things. First, a new Cub Wars deck, since I haven't seen any posted anywhere. I also added a new list in the Lists section, called Combat Keywords. As the name suggests, it lists all the Combat keywords and the cards identified with them.
New: the Lexicon section has been added. In this weekly article, I'll be picking a single card to evaluate on various criteria. My first Lexicon is on Preternatural Awareness. You can get there through the main navigation bar (or near the top of the non-frame page).
April 14, 1999
More Equinox added! Also added Sergei the Executioner as a scan. There are some more decks, too.
Bad news - I lost a slew of email recently, and I don't know if I'll ever get it back. So, if you sent me something I haven't responded to, please resend it. I'm not ignoring anyone!
April 7, 1999
Bah. ISP problems delayed the update this time. Some more Equinox cards were added. We still are missing about 60 cards, but things are looking good. Oh yeah, some more decks got added in, as trouble for your wait.
March 29, 1999
Got some Equinox! Spoilers added from the Fianna and Stargazer decks, as well as about 20 boosters. I also corrected a bunch of typos I just now noticed.
March 22, 1999
Added two more decks to the mix, both from the rageinfo list. I also put the Mind It link up top, so that people can use this service to know when the update page changes. Granted, I do most of my new updates on Mondays, but that segues into the last bit - my Equinox spoilers are going to be a bit late getting up on the site. Looks like the distributers still haven't straightened up, and my local shop didn't get any. Add in that I don't have the funds to lay out the equivalent of three Rolling Thunder releases... Don't worry - as I get them, they go up. Expect irregular updates until I get them all up. By-the-by, if anyone wants to send me the spoilers (please include artist) of the chase cards for Equinox, it would be appreciated. I suspect it will be some time until I get all five.
March 15, 1999
Trading! I decided to finally sit down and inventory my cards properly. While I was at it, I added my wants and haves on the site. It's a sort of two-level effect with a little path... (a path, a path!). I didn't include my Rage 1 cards, since that will be a nightmare in itself to catalog. But if someone needs something, go ahead and ask.
March 8, 1999
Minor changes: Added a fourth deck, one of my own design. Garou Nation stuff came last week, but no card. We should expect to see it next Sacred Ways. I've begun to notice almost all of my updates take place on Mondays.
March 1, 1999
Minor changes: Added another deck, taken from the rageinfo list. Corrected a formula in the card counting routine for the decks. Readjusted the statistics page formatting to make it easier to read. Added some links to the non-frames page that were added to the framed version a few updates ago.
February 22, 1999
Minor changes: A few individual pages didn't quite upload right on the 16th. Corrected a few typos. Added another deck, taken from the rageinfo list.
February 16, 1999
Little Bear's Lore changes: Card lists for Equinox are in, courtesy of Scrye. I did decide to add a stat page, giving numbers on many of the cards. There was also a few architecture changes, thanks go to Refuse for pointing a problem out to me.
February 8, 1999
Little Bear's Lore changes: Phase 6 is completely inputted (lucky on the boosters, let me tell you...). This means that all currently published cards that I'm aware of are on-site (even though I don't own two of them). I've got scans in for both Bane Flies and High Squeal. Speaking of High Squeal, she was moved to her proper location as a Shapeshifter, not an Ally, as Scrye had published. Various minor typos were corrected. Also, I've put in a frameless navigation system for the spoilers. I'll admit it, it's somewhat clunky, since most of the pages are written with frames in mind. But, you should be able to at least get most of the meat from the spoilers, if not all of the gravy.
I also put in one of my own decks, so that people can see how I'm putting together the deck area. Submissions are certainly welcome.
What next? Well, before Equinox rolls around, I'll probably do some more work on the Gurahl Home. I think I'm also going to build a statistics page for the number crunchers among us. There's also Sacred Ways coming out soon, so who knows what that will bring?
February 1, 1999
Little Bear's Lore changes: Corrected typos on Fenris Bite (listed it as a Combat Out event instead of the correct Combat In) (Thanks to Evan Snow-Wolf for observantly noticing that!) and Janus the Beast (Somehow, I put him in as Female...). Added spoilers for Blue Moon and Challenge the Leader, thanks to Andrew Getting.
Due to a tightness of funds, a complete Phase 6 will be delayed, possibly not until just before Valentine's Day. If you haven't noticed, I've also moved to a frames-based engine for the spoilers. Note, however, that I have no plans to run a non-frames version, due to size constraints. With Phase 5, the spoilers file alone was 600k. Things were getting messy. If enough people complain, though, maybe...
January 3, 1999
Pretty much rewrote the entire site. Expanded from just a spoilers page to include the Gurahl online home as well as more graphics, links and card lists. Still pondering as to whether a frame-based list/spoiler engine would be a wise idea or not. I ponder well.
October 10, 1998 - January 3, 1999
Hibernation. Boy, was I tired.
October 10, 1998
Initial site launch for Little Bear's Lore.
